Expertise

The electrical file, before the first cable.

Studies, LV switchboards, distribution, cabling and commissioning.

Design and size up front, rather than correct on site.

This expertise is a design and coordination capability. We produce the drawings, size the installation, define the cabinets, review a file inherited from a third party, hold the interfaces between trades and carry out the verifications. The works themselves, their preparation and execution, belong to the Industrial electrical works service.

01

What we do

Six capabilities, exercised before and around the works.

  • design the electrical drawings and diagrams for the installation
  • size the installation for what it has to carry, power, automation and IT on the same assembly
  • design the cabinets, from their contents to their placement inside a constrained area
  • review an existing file and flag what does not hold before works are committed
  • coordinate with the other trades, where interfaces are usually lost
  • run the tests and verifications, and document what was verified

02

In which situations

The question comes up before the works, or just after a poorly assembled file.

  • an electrical file must exist before tendering, building or accepting
  • an installation must carry power, automation and IT without any of them being sacrificed
  • a cabinet must be defined for a cleanroom or airlock, contents and placement included
  • a file inherited from a third party must be reviewed before the works expose its gaps
  • several trades work on the same interfaces and nobody holds them
  • tests must be run and documented in order to accept the installation
03

With what

What we produce and what we rely on.

  • electrical drawings and diagrams
  • sizing notes grounded in what the installation actually has to carry
  • a cabinet design that accounts for contents, placement and the constraints of the area
  • a critical reading of existing files
  • test protocols and documented verifications
  • SEE Electrical for producing the diagrams

We only cite a certification, authorisation or specific requirement once it has been verified for the assignment concerned.

04

What it produces

A file the works can build on rather than redo.

  • an electrical file usable for tendering, building or acceptance
  • sizing that is justified rather than an order of magnitude
  • the gaps in an existing file flagged before they cost site time
  • interfaces held between trades rather than discovered at integration
  • documented tests, and therefore defensible ones

This expertise is the design and coordination capability. Running the works, their scope and execution belong to the Industrial electrical works service.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the most common questions before starting a project with MAJ Solutions.

Which documents can you produce for an industrial electrical study?

Depending on the assignment: electrical drawings and diagrams, a sizing note, a specification or requirements document, a bill of materials, an estimate or costing, as well as the design of cabinets and low-voltage switchboards. Diagrams are produced in SEE Electrical. The documents retained, their level of detail and their use, whether to tender, build or accept the installation, are agreed before work starts.

Can you bridge the electrical study and the works?

Yes. The Industrial electrical expertise produces the file, drawings, sizing and cabinet design, and the Industrial electrical works service carries out the job. When both are entrusted to us, site constraints are built in from the design stage and discrepancies are settled before they cost time on site. We can also review a file taken over from a third party before work begins.

Does your electrical file have to hold before the works start?

Describe the installation, what it has to carry and the state of any existing file. An initial discussion will clarify what needs designing, reviewing or verifying.
