Expertise
From sensor to data, a coherent measurement chain.
Environmental Monitoring Systems, sensors, data acquisition, BMS/EMS integration.
Every measurement point is defined by what it is used for.
Monitoring an environment means connecting the measured parameters, the sensors, where they sit and how they are acquired to the data and alarms you expect. We design that measurement chain, integrate it with your BMS or EMS, and support it as it evolves. Temperature, humidity and differential pressure, among others.
What we do
From the parameter to monitor to the recorded data, in the order the measurement travels.
- define the parameters to monitor and the measurement points, by area, equipment and use
- select the continuous monitoring sensors and where they go, based on measuring range, required accuracy and the constraints of the area
- design the data acquisition and the data exchange with the BMS or EMS in place
- define the thresholds, the alarms and the data to be recorded
- prepare and support the checks on the chain before commissioning
In which situations
For a space still to be equipped as much as for a system already in service.
- a storage area, a laboratory or a cleanroom needs instrumenting
- an existing EMS must take on new equipment or new measurement points
- instruments must be replaced, or connected to an existing system
- recurring alarms, discrepancies between two readings or missing data remain unexplained
With what
The site as it stands, and choices suited to what needs monitoring.
- site surveys, an equipment inventory and the needs expressed by users
- sensors and acquisition devices suited to the parameters being monitored
- data interfaces defined by the equipment and the site architecture, for example a Modbus TCP or Profinet data feed to the BMS or EMS
- a mapping study, where one exists or is planned for the project, to justify where the sensors go
Functions, tests and responsibilities are defined with your engineering, quality and operations teams.
What it produces
Decisions in writing, which integration and operations can take forward.
- a measurement and acquisition architecture, with its points and interfaces identified
- specifications that link the parameters to the instruments, the functions and the planned alarms
- the results of the checks, and the points to address before or after start-up
- up-to-date documentation that the qualification activities planned for the project can build on
This expertise brings the sensor, acquisition and interface capabilities. It can be called on for a targeted need or within an EMS engineering assignment, which organises the study, integration, documentation and checks according to the project scope.
Six areas of expertise
An installation to instrument, or a measurement that raises questions?
Describe the areas to monitor, the equipment in place and your monitoring needs. We will tell you which capabilities to bring in and which interfaces to examine first.
